Sick and tired of wearing glasses or having to deal with
contacts? I know I was! Here are some great exercises that you can
use to improve your vision. No expensive eye surgery needed.
Use it, or lose it! This is a motto we're all too familiar with.
In dealing with the human body, this can be especially true. It's
said that adults who do not perform regular strength exercise lose
about one-half pound of muscle each year after they reach maturity.
We know that if you aren't exercising, you're going to lose
precious muscle mass.
Now just as with any other muscle of the human body, the same
can be said about your eyes. Yes, you read that correctly. Your
eyes have muscles that must be exercised too! Although it may seem
that you use your eyes all the time whether you're; driving,
working on a report, or surfing the net as you are doing right now,
the truth is that you're not actually working the full range of
muscles in your eyes.
Here are some exercise tips that will get you started on
improving your eyesight. For these exercises you want to be sitting
up straight in your chair with your feet planted firmly on the
ground.
Eyesight Exercise #1
A nice and easy eyesight exercise to start off with is rolling your
eyes clockwise, then counter-clockwise. You want to repeat this 4
to 5 times.
Eyesight Exercise #2
Close your eyes tightly for about 5 seconds, and then open them for
5 seconds. Do this 6 to 8 times.
Eyesight Exercise #3
This one requires a little imagination. Look across at the wall on
the other end of your room. Imagine that you are writing with your
eyes for a moment and go through the entire alphabet, A to Z. Keep
your head completely still while doing this and use only your eyes
for each letter. The bigger the letters, the more difficult it can
become, so start with small letters and work your way up to bigger
ones.
Eyesight Exercise #4
This next one requires a pencil or pen. Hold the pencil/pen out in
front of you at arm's length. Now slowly pull the pencil/pen
towards your nose and follow it with your eyes until you can't keep
it in focus. Repeat this one 10 times.
Eyesight Exercise #5
For this last one, imagine that you are standing in front of a
giant dart board. Now start with looking at the middle or target of
the dart board. Now without moving your head, focus your eyes on
the outer right edge of the giant dart board. Now look back at the
middle. Now focus on the bottom of the dart board, and then back to
the center. Repeat this again, this time going to the left side of
the dart board, then back to the center. Do this at least 10
times.
These are just five of the many exercises that you can do daily
to dramatically improve your eyesight and give you back your
freedom.
